Making Nigeria West Africa’s Hub for Rig and Vessel Repair
LADOL has successfully completed three large-scale rig maintenance and repair jobs (the largest ever in Nigeria), for Noble Drilling, Noble Percy Jones – Transocean, Baltic and Noble Drilling, Noble Lloyd Noble.
These projects created more than 1,000 jobs and retained more than 60 million USD of foreign capital in Nigeria. Long-term, the successful completion of these jobs has helped make Nigeria the West African hub for rig and vessel repair, contributing more than $500,000,000 in new revenues and business.
The simultaneous repair of Transocean and Noble Drilling Rigs was one of the largest rig repair jobs undertaken in West Africa to date.
A team of 250 people living and working in LADOL 24/7 completely refurbished NPJ in just five months – the largest rig repair ever done in Nigeria.
In October of 2011, NPJ (Noble Percy Jones) sailed from LADOL straight back to the field.
